Back in 2008 I started a very ambitious 101 in 1001 project. I had a blast chasing after some of these goals, accomplishing a lot of fun ones (and challenging ones), and then realizing slowly goals change as quickly as your life situations change.
In the summer of 2008 Mike and I got engaged, and were married in April of 2009. When you go from the mindset of two-to-one, your goals change. I’m proud that I was able to accomplish 39 of 101 in my 2008 list – things I may never have tried otherwise – and things that I didn’t really even think about because I’ve always wanted to do but just hadn’t gotten around to it yet.
I’ve decided to cut the 2008 challenge short by a few months and start a NEW list. Much of my goals are similar, however now they include my husband!! Out with the old goals, in with the new!! I’ve transferred over some of the old goals that were not accomplished, some that I did accomplish that I think will be good to try again, and plenty of new ones.
For those who can get through this long post, there’s some INTERACTIVE items that could involve YOU! Let’s see if you can find them!

I love your Embracing Randomness goals! I think I may do #94 too . . . that’s a great one! Feel free to complete #49 at my house . . . any time it’s convenient for you, it’ll be convenient for me.
You did a great job “re-vamping” your list to suit your married self now. I lost my 101 list when my old computer crashed, so I too, better make a new one. Thanks for inspiring me again! Love ya! P.S. If you complete #49 at my house, Sophia can help you with #54.
Thanks for the inspiration, Liana. I admire your ambition to do all these things. I think as we get older we may tend to settle for the routine, and forget that we can do so much more, if only we remember the motivation that got us here in the first place! So, dispense with the routine! I’m making my own list today, and maybe I will see you at that bar facing the car wash!
Hey Liana! If you’re looking for a new country to visit for #21, look us up in Turkey! (Been a while since we connected… we’re John and Leanna that you photographed a few years back in Sedona, AZ. We still marvel at our photos from that day.) Love idea of your new 101 in 1001, by the way!
Man – you could do so many of them here if you visit again!!! (especially the beach house one). If you ever want to babysit your more than welcome to anytime (in fact if you were actually living close I might beg you….we are lucky if we get a few nights off a year!). Miss you guys.
Hi Liana, I’ve been reading your blog for a few weeks now and lovin’ every bit of it. I found you on the pictage blog a few weeks back. You have already helped me so much. Thank you! You said a truth or dare, but my goodness you’ve got so much already on your list, and I think it’s fantastic! I’m going to make a list myself. So, I’ll give you a truth – tell how you came to know Jesus Christ! (You may have already done that, I haven’t gone completely through your blog yet.)
I can help you with #61 as long as it’s not in Mike’s car!!! LoL I’ll also do #97 with you at Dance 101!!! Sounds like FUN!!!
I am exempting myself from 101!! You’ve been so fantastic in my life!!! You’re the best!! I’m blessed to know you!!!
What a great list! Please make sure you keep us updated on your list! And I hope your Grandpa’s film has something way cool/meaningful on it!
You don’t have a ROTH IRA???? A biz-minded girl like you? That’s stunningly shocking.
I’m working to max mine out.
Great list! I’ll be interested to see you plow through it!
love your ideas liana! i’d love to know what stuff you sell on craigslist or e-bay
Great Post Liana!!! It’s always a good reminder of whats really important in life. Life is too short so make the best of it!! I admire your goals and know that you can do whatever your heart desires. Got gem Lady
Liana, I love the idea. Did you hear about this 101 in 1001 from somewhere or did you come up with it? So, did I help you to cross off #80, even though it wasn’t craigslist or eBay?
You have now motivated me to sit down with my wife and create our own lists. Love it!! God Bless!
I think this is totally awesome! Id love to do something like this with my husband and actually complete it! That would be a miracle in itself! I can’t wait to see what else you find to do next! Did you post the sugar cookie recipe??
I connected with your blog through Pictage. This list idea is awesome. I saw the Bucket List and kept meaning to start creating one for myself, but haven’t as of yet. I am going to start, though! I think giving a deadline to get these done is a good thing …. that way I cannot say, I will eventually get around to it…
Hmmmm, let’s see what I can involve my husband in (without him knowing…LOL) ….
thanks so much for the push I needed to get this started!
take care
Great job on the list so far! I updated my post on OSP to reflect my done items as well as updated my dayzeroproject.com list!
Awesome! I am going to to this myself. Great to get ideas from you!
