I LOVE this time of year! This time last year I was running a muck preparing to leave town – to get married in Beverly Hills, then off on our honeymoon in NZ, and finally work in Australia.
Fun fact: Mike and I have never had an April here in Atlanta together! We started dating May of 2007, were on a break the following April (before he realized he couldn’t live without me, had to fight for me, and wanted to marry me!), then were gone for the wedding/honeymoon all of April 2009. Crazy!
So I’m very much looking forward to sharing my first April in Atlanta with Mikey this year!
Today I planted flowers in our juicy green Crate and Barrel planters out on the front porch.
Mikey did massive lawn-care and landscape maintenance last night, while I played suzie-home-maker making a small dent in our 3-week pile of laundry and preparing a simple fresh meal for dinner.
The fur-balls love this time of year too because it means they can be on the back deck a lot, playing and laying in the sun. While we were eating lunch today Charlie kept coming up the the window – he wanted to contribute to our meal. Gross! Oh, it’s alive and kicking still too! They won’t kill the things. We were sitting there eating and he kept prancing by with it and we’re like “how are we supposed to eat chicken fried rice while looking at that!”
It’s their favorite pastime – catching skinks and bringing them inside to bury in couch cushions and under rugs, and chase around the house until they play dead. I am thankful though the kitties don’t bring us rodents or birds!

Ahhh the memories. haha. At least you have Mikey there now so we don’t have to chase them around the house with the kiddies leave them inside!! haha.
