Brittany & Scott’s Little Gardens Wedding

by Liana on October 31, 2011

When Mike and I started dating back in the Spring/Summer of 2007, one of our first dates was to an Atlanta Braves baseball game with a group of friends. It was then that I met Scott & Brittany for the first time. It turns out that Scott has a love for photography as well, so the four of us have enjoyed double dates and even the occasional “photo walk” or “photo safari” around town… just meandering around snapping pictures of whatever interests us.

I was completely honored of course when they asked me to photograph their wedding, and even more thrilled that they’d be tying the knot!  This was a one-of-a-kind wedding for me… AND for Mike. He was IN the wedding and asked to give the prayer/blessing before dinner. It was pretty fun watching Mike on the OTHER side of the camera during a wedding for a change!!  He actually told me before the wedding he was more nervous being in the wedding than photographing it – so cute!!

I started off at Brittany’s sisters home with the ladies getting ready, while Dana (who came to second shoot with me) shadowed the guys.

Brittany put a lot of time into the details that she and the bridesmaids wore – making their own Peacock feather hair pieces, and adorning the garter and bridal shoes with bejeweled feathers as well.

Next we headed over to Little Gardens in Lawrenceville where both their ceremony and reception was held.

Love this moment between Brittany and her mom while she was getting into her dress.

We snuck outside for some pictures just before the rain hit.

While photographing portraits in open shade (daylight) is my favorite, shooting at this time of night with the deep blue hues of twilight is right up there with it.

Love how Scott was grinning ear-to-ear during the first dance.

Party Time!

It got a little wild with some of the groomsmen showing of their dance-skillz!

One thing is for sure, Brittany and Scott know how to throw a great party!!

Thank you two again first and foremost for your friendship, but also for the honor of being there to document your wedding day! So happy for you two!!!
